Dekon Projects is your industrial and commercial structure authority, specializing in alterations, renovations and new-build on both public and private sector projects.
We are proud of our 50 years in business, and of our annual turnover that exceeds R250 million. We are prouder of our employees, many who have been with us for decades. Together as contracts managers, construction supervisors, registered health and safety personnel, skilled artisans and administrative personnel, we provide expert capacity for large scale projects across the Eastern and Western Cape of South Africa.
Our fathering company Dekon Construction (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1973, and 1974 saw the opening of both the Port Elizabeth and East London offices. Our Cape town office opened ten years later in 1984.
Dekon Construction was restructured and registered as Dekon Projects (Pty) Ltd in 1992, to make the necessary provision for equity ownership. Today, all construction activity takes place under Dekon Projects (Pty) Ltd banner. We control our own plant and equipment needs, which means we deliver competitive value on every project. We price ourselves on the high standard of workmanship of the Dekon Projects team, and the integrity with which projects are completed on time.
This is the legacy of our founding partners, Des Masters, Kevin Hodgson and John Heeger, whose names were amalgamated to create the company name.
The strength of their foundation means that today, most of our work is from repeat clients. Some, like Mercedes Benz, have worked in partnership with Dekon Projects for the past 45+ years. This legacy continues in the strong relationship held with our bankers, Standard Bank, whom have been with Dekon since it first opened its door for business.
Honorary Members
Hilton Wait
Hilton Wait is our manager for Port Elizabeth. He became a shareholder and director in 2014. Since 2023 he has been appointed as our new Managing Director.

Gareth Wall
Gareth Wall stepped into the role of managing our Cape Town branch in 2014, after joining Dekon Projects in 2004 as a Contracts Manager.

Dane Langhein
Dane Langhein took over the role of managing our East London branch in 2015 and earned his directorship in 2021.

Sandra Jogie
Sandra Jogie assumed a Directorship at Dekon in 2018, with a fruitful 38+ years as part of the Dekon family already under her belt.
Annelien Baretti
She has a long history with our company, joining the financial head office in Port Elizabeth in 2005.
