Dekon Projects is your industrial and commercial structure authority, specializing in alterations, renovations and new-build on both public and private sector projects.
We are proud of our 50 years in business, and of our annual turnover that exceeds R250 million. We are prouder of our employees, many who have been with us for decades. Together as contracts managers, construction supervisors, registered health and safety personnel, skilled artisans and administrative personnel, we provide expert capacity for large scale projects across the Eastern and Western Cape of South Africa.
We control our own plant and equipment needs, which means we deliver competitive value on every project. We price ourselves on the high standard of workmanship of the Dekon Projects team, and the integrity with which projects are completed on time.
Our fathering company Dekon Construction (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1973, and 1974 saw the opening of both the Port Elizabeth and East London offices. Our Cape town office opened ten years later in 1984
Dekon Construction was restructured and registered as Dekon Projects (Pty) Ltd in 1992, to make the necessary provision for equity ownership. Today, all construction activity takes place under Dekon Projects (Pty) Ltd banner.
This is the legacy of our founding partners, Des Masters, Kevin Hodgson and John Heeger, whose names were amalgamated to create the company name. The strength of their foundation means that today, most of our work is from repeat clients. Some, like Mercedes Benz, have worked in partnership with Dekon Projects for the past 45+ years. This legacy continues in the strong relationship held with our bankers, Standard Bank, whom have been with Dekon since it first opened its door for business.
Through decades of political, economic and social change, Dekon Projects has remained steadfast — building not only structures, but a legacy of resilience.

Annelien Baretti has held the position of Finance Manager at Dekon Projects since 2016.
She has a long history with our company, joining the financial head office in Port Elizabeth in 2005. Annelien’s career in accounting first began at a private education institution in 1999.
Her experience in this challenging and stimulating environment cemented, for her, the wish to grow her career in finance. She was later promoted to the role of Faculty Manager for the Computer School and Degree Campus of the private institution.
In 2007, Annelien enrolled in part-time studies through the University of South Africa, and she achieved the fulfilment of her bachelor of commerce degree in 2013.
She left Dekon for a short while to pursue an appointment as the Finance and Human Resources Manager at the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber.
It was our good
fortune to welcome her back as Accountant in 2014, and to promote her into her
current position in 2016.
Annelien’s young family is her top priority, and she strives to spend quality time with her husband and two children, building happy family memories.

Animals have always been part of the Dekon Projects family. From stray cats and dogs finding refuge at our offices to supporting local shelters, we believe in caring for those who cannot speak for themselves. Donating this container was a small contribution to a cause that remains close to our hearts.
